Carlo Salvarani’s entrepreneurial adventure began in 1968, when he founded the Gresmalt Group in Casalgrande. The passion that drove him then is the same that guides his children Alessandra and Filippo today, aiming towards constant growth with a focus on all-Italian products.

We have been working with clay, water and fire for fifty years. Simple elements to which we add another: passion.

Today Gresmalt is one of the leading players in the ceramic sector in Italy in terms of product square meter, with 5 sites, over 130 million in turnover, driving an ever-popular trend, using cutting-edge technology and with its all-Italian heart.

Within an all-Italian production cycle, the prerogative of the Group is to ensure high quality standards thanks to the use of cutting-edge technologies, which guarantee maximum efficiency.

All the production is carried out in Italy, in the three factories we own. Here lies the heart of our excellence: efficient systems, advanced technologies, selected raw materials added to high and constant quality standards. The large production capacity (over 20 million square meters per year) is combined with extreme flexibility and competitive industrial costs. In this way, we are able to respond quickly and promptly to the needs of the market.

IN THE THREE PRODUCTION PLANTS, GRUPPO CERAMICHE GRESMALT PRODUCES BIA GROUP PORCELAIN STONEWARE

It is therefore suitable for covering floor and wall surfaces for indoor and outdoor use depending on the specific characteristics of the product.

With a view to a continuous approach to customer needs, Ceramiche Gresmalt is expanding the range of its products, combining technique and aesthetics. The indoor and outdoor surfaces are offered in elegant finishes, each time skilfully enhancing the features of the product, making it suitable for the specific use.

GRESMALT FOUNDATION
Carlo Salvarani, together with some partners,
set up in Casalgrande a company
specialising in ceramic production.

1972

SAVEN
Salvarani, together with a partner,
created one of the first companies
specialising in the production of porcelain stoneware.
The company was then sold.

1979

ACQUISITION OF CERAMICHE DI FRASSINORO
Gresmalt bought the company,
whose production is based on red clay
extracted from the historic Apennine quarries,
specialised in ceramic production.

1993

ACQUISITION OF THE
VIANO PLANT
Gresmalt bought the plant
specialising in the production of
Glazed Porcelain Stoneware.

1998

SINTESI
The new brand was created
with an independent sales network.

2000

FROM CASALGRANDE
TO SASSUOLO
Transfer of the
administrative and sales headquarters.

2009

ABITARE
The new brand was created
with an independent sales network.

2012

NEW PLANT AT IANO
Thanks to the large investment in technology,
the fully digitalised factory was set up.

2016

INDUSTRIE MATILDICHE
The Frassinoro plant was refurbished
and the company name changed.

2018

ERMES CERAMICHE AURELIA
The sales company became part
of the Gresmalt Group.

2021
